A static and elegant villa with a view of the flooded bell tower of Kalyazin on the shore of the Volga River.

Architectural features

Building a house on a slope requires consideration of the terrain. Due to the water and gravity processes, the slope, consisting of layers of clay and sand, required engineering solutions. The architects emphasized the process of “exposing” the slope by creating a massive concrete plinth with stairs and retaining walls that solve the problem of stability. The upper floor is designed as a glass pavilion-belvedere, creating a sense of lightness and offering a view of the Volga River.
