Within the realm of glass visions, where reality emerges in the shimmer of a threshold.
What do we see when we look into the glass? The space outside the window or a reflection of ourselves?
Glazing becomes not only a frame for the landscape but also a surface on which a new dimension is born — elusive, dynamic, fleeting.
By observing reflections, we begin to see the familiar in a different light. The light changes — and with it, our perception. A shift in perspective transforms the reflection into something new, unlike what it was a second ago. It is a moment when the outer world enters into dialogue with the inner, and reality intertwines with imagination.
In this new project, we’ve gathered video fragments of reflections on glass captured over the past few years. It’s a kaleidoscope of images: the sky, tree canopies, silhouettes of passersby, evening lights. These frames convey not just nature, but its perception through glass.
The installation is accompanied by a soundscape that allows the viewer to immerse themselves deeper into the atmosphere. By wearing headphones, one can hear the rustling of leaves, the crunch of snow, the sounds of opening panoramic glazing, and familiar domestic sounds — a piano, voices by the fireplace, a filled glass. The audio creates a meditative space where it’s easy to feel truly “here and now.”
The project can be seen at the “Practicum Dom A-Class” gallery at the ArchMoscow 2025 exhibition at Gostiny Dvor.
